I took many hardware and software classes at Sierra College, and subsequently was hired with a computer company where we installed computer systems in dental offices, employing both top-line graphics and database management systems. I worked for three years as a special education assistant instructor in EVERY subject area. I worked with K-6 students in whatever subject they needed assistance. At times I went into the classroom, however, most of the time I worked with them one-on-one, or in small groups of 2-3. I delivered phonics programs, assisted with Math, helped write papers, or with student's reading assignments. I helped students with Science, and Geography, and Social Studies. I'm am confident that I can assist in whatever way the student will need.
I worked in special education for six years. The first three I worked directly with a special education teacher who delivered phonics programs to K-3; I worked one-on-one or in small groups two or three class periods per day. I worked for a school district the following three years, again in special education. The first year I traveled between three elementary schools working one-on-one with second graders, delivering phonics programs. The next two years I worked one-on-one, and with small groups, delivering phonics programs.
I have worked six years as a special education teacher's assistant, K-12, so I am familiar with a variety of study skills, from time management, reading skills, to specific subjects. I have also taken a couple of study skills classes at our local community college, to improve my own and to help my students. I am confident we can develop a progam for your specific needs.
I worked in Special Education for six years, K-12, from delivering phonics programs to helping develop and edit reports on McBeth. I worked in the regular classroom as well as maintained our presence in a stand-alone Special Education classroom. I worked with all ages and grade levels, with a working knowledge of all subjects taught. I particularly like working with elementary school students, but am quite comfortable with high school students as well.
I'm familiar with QuickBooks 2003, as I worked for a company that used it for inventory, reports, and invoicing.
I took an Outlook class, and have worked with the program daily for the past eight years. I am very familiar with the functionality of Microsoft Outlook, especially through an Exchange Server.
I have taken two Operating Systems classes: Windows 98 and Windows XP. I also have experience working with Windows ME and Windows Vista. I worked eight years for a computer company where I configured the PCs we installed in dental offices; I accessed the operating systems on a regular basis. In the past year I had to configure Windows 7, so learned many of the ins and outs of this most current OS. I feel very comfortable with all of the above-mentioned OSs.
