I am a former high school math teacher and an experienced tutor. I have had much success boosting grades and test scores for students of all levels, Algebra to Geometry to Calculus. Algebra I is a very critical subject. A good solid foundation in Algebra I will make Algebra II and Algebra III (precalculus) a breeze. It is important that you have a very good understanding of this subject...otherwise you will be miserable as you take more advanced math classes. I am a former high school Algebra teacher and I have taught Algebra I and II students of all backgrounds. I can help you!
I am a former high school math teacher and an experienced tutor. I have taught Algebra (all levels) for many years. Some of my students go from failing to high 90s under my tutelage. I had one student who no longer needed tutoring, even for his Algebra 2 final!!!
I am a former NYC high school Geometry teacher and I was considered "extremely hard" for teaching proofs to my students. But my students were the only ones doing geometric proofs in the NY Reagents in the whole school. I have also designed summer program for students who want to get a head-start in Geometry. I even wrote a mini-Geometry book for this purpose. I can cover most major topics in Geometry in little as one month (it all depends on how motivated your child is) but most will take six-weeks (5 days a week).
A solid foundation in Prealgebra will help you breeze through Algebra I and Algebra II. I have taught hundreds of 6th and 7th graders. Many of them were admitted to NYC specialized high schools (Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, and Brooklyn Tech) based on their excellent SHSAT scores. Most recently, I have a 7th grade student who received the highest score ever (according to his dad) in standardized test given in Edison school system.
College-bound Precalculus students (high school sophomores and juniors) should seriously think about taking the SAT II - Math Level II in June. Most competitive schools require it and it is also an excellent way to study for the school finals. I have much experience teaching SAT I Math and SAT II Math. I can help you boost your test scores.
