I am a retired teacher with experience and certification in elementary, secondary, and college level education. I have majors in English, German, and an M.A.T. degree. I have a B.A. in German and in English from Albion College, and graduated summa cum laude. I won the D. M. Gilbert Award: German Outstanding Senior Major. I have a M.A. from SVSU and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I am an Adjunct Professor for German at SVSU.
I graduated summa cum laude from Albion College with a B.A. in English. I taught English literature and writing for over 20 years in the Bangor Township school district and also served as English department chair. I spent many after-school hours working with students to improve their writing skills. I have also worked for an international company teaching English to people from another country.
I have a Master's Degree in Child Development from SVSU, a continuing certificate in Elementary Teaching In the state of Michigan, and I have ten years' experience teaching at the elementary level in public schools (Bangor Township Schools.) I have also done substitute teaching at the elementary level after retirement as a teacher. I have given seminars on teaching and taught a MAT class for elementary teachers and I also worked as a teacher in a Delta College elementary level gifted and talented summer/after-school program.
