My parents started my piano lessons at the ripe young age of five. My primary training was in the New York area during my grade school and high school years with the late concert pianist, Adam Kapuscinski. I have had the pleasure of performing at well over 1,000 weddings, corporate events, funerals, Holiday parties, and other events, and look forward to working with you if you are ready to improve your pianistic skills and expression.
Starting at the ripe age of five, I received my musical training in the New York area during my grade school and high school years with the late Persian immigrant and concert pianist Adam Kapuscinski. While my formal training is classical, I played for many years in different bands in the Boston area - top 40 bands, show bands, function (wedding) bands, even a duo. Since moving to Portland in 1985, I have played solo recitals, weddings, Holiday parties and other functions. Please note that I am only qualified to teach intermediate and advanced students, not beginners.
I am a Master Practitioner and Certified Trainer of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) with specific ADD/ADHD training from the late Don Blackerby PhD; prior to his passing in 2009, Dr. Blackerby was the foremost NLP authority on Learning Disabilities, including Attention Deficit Disorder. I have been assisting children and adults with learning/attention issues since 1996. People with test anxiety, spelling difficulties, or math challenges are good candidates for this type of work.
I hold a BS degree in interdisciplinary science (electrical engineering combined with pre-med courses) from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge MA), 1975. I hold an MS degree in biomedical engineering (EE + pre-med courses) from Northwestern University (Evanston IL), 1976. I have 20+ years in the industry, doing analog circuit design, digital circuit design, and firmware.
