I have passed the N1, the highest level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, obtaining a perfect score in the reading section. In college, I was a Japanese language tutor for Yale?s Center for Language Study, providing individual lessons for beginning students. Since August 2016, I have been living in Japan and working Coordinator for International Relations for the JET Program. Though my primary responsibilities are translation and interpretation, my job allows me to make use of my Japanese in various ways, ranging from radio interviews to presentations on American culture. I also have experience being tutored in Japanese, so I understand what the tutoring process is like from the perspective of the student.
