I am currently a certified elementary teacher grades (1-6). I have worked with elementary students for the last two years. I have been able to learn differentiated instruction to help individualized students who struggle with different concepts, while working in the special education classroom. I think getting to the root of a problem makes a difference, rather than just working out problems to get through them. I have worked side by side with the class room teacher. I tutored after school in small groups in math, science, social studies, ELA in grades 1-8.
I have been working with elementary students for the last two years. I have been working with certain students who struggle with phonics. Using different approaches and methods such as chunking and repetition works with some students, while other approaches work with others. We worked with a new ELA program with our Elementary students over the last year that seemed to work on the computer.
I have worked in education since 2007. Since then I have worked in grades 1-12. For the last two years I have been working with students in grades 1-12 in the areas of Math, Science, reading, ELA, Social Sciences, and any other needed areas. I tutor after school as well. I currently work in the Special Education room and work with students who have reading and learning disorders. I find ways to overcome these disorders to be able learn the needed content and objectives. I have worked with students to teach them to be able to learn concepts through different study techniques to memorize skills as well as to learn new skills.
I taught High School FACS for three years. During these three years I taught a Nutrition class to my high school students. This class consisted of an extensive look at the different aspects of nutrition. Not only the food groups but how they work together and how to overcome deficiencies from impoverished areas. Students were required to prepare complete menus and research foods from around the world.
