I am an educator who spent 30 years helping adult sales a and management personnel prepare, create and present multi-media presentations to a wide audience from the staff on the loading dock to the C-level executives in the corporate office. Now I teach 5th graders prepare themselves to make the climb to middle school to be totally prepared for math, science and social studies. I also work with individuals who are wanting to go into the education arena prepare for Praxis content subject matter test as well as Praxis III and PLT. Preparing students to perform at their highest level is my specialty.
I spent 30 years in sales, sales management and product support. For 16 of those years I hired, trained and managed both sales and support personnel. Many of those employees went on to successful careers in sales management, product management and managing sales support functions. Many other of the sales candidates regularly earned monthly and annual sales objectives and annual sales awards. For another 11 years I served in Product Marketing and support. Much of this time was spent training internal employees as well as customers on the use and implementation of our products. Much of this centered on reducing cost, improving productivity and managing the supply chain for our customers.
For over 16 of the 30 years I spent in sales management and product support, I hired, trained and managed both sales and sales support personnel. That included recruiting, hiring, training and more importantly developing them into successful members of my staff. This process usually started with helping to identify individual strengths that would help equip that person for the position they were being hired for. Many of those employees went on to successful careers in sales management, product management and managing sales support functions within our organization. Identifying leaders and future management candidates early in their career is important. Building those individuals into candidates for either larger sales assignments or marketing and sales support position is important more maintaining success. The other sales candidates regularly earned monthly and annual sales objectives and annual sales awards. For another 11 years, I served in Product Marketing and support. Much of this time was spent training internal employees as well as customers on the use and implementation of various products and services. In this capacity helping a customer create and implement procedural changes often led to advancement within their organization allowing them to progress in their careers. Identifying strengths and weaknesses within a business executive and allowing them to work within those strengths and weaknesses is a big part of helping an individual and an organization move forward. Personnel acquisition is much too costly to be starting over all the time, hire well, train well and bring people along at the right pace will lead to success for everyone.
As a classroom teacher for over 5 years I have had the opportunity to work with many ADD/ADHD students. I find that shorter task with meaningful breaks are helpful with these students. I have also found that modeling pictorially also allows students to put their energy to good use. When tutoring these students I have also found unfamiliar and quiet locations help students focus on the task they are working on and not wanting to focus on familiar distractions. Reward systems work well too where accomplishment of written can be rewarded with time on a digital tool like an iPad, Chromebook or PC.
I spent over 30 years in sales and sales marketing positions. In most cases the products and services I sold were a direct marketing link from my customers to their customers. I have worked with Fortune 500 companies as well local and regional leaders in their specific markets. I have also had the opportunity to work with many small and startup business who 30 years later are respected leaders in their market. In have had direct involvement with everything from supply channel management to manufacturing of printed and tangible marketing materials used in the promotion of my clients product and services and in fact the actual product that they sold. I have worked with budgeting and finance to maintain and reduce cost both on acquiring clients and retaining. I have conducted client seminars and symposiums that have both educated and equipped my customers but have also allowed my clients to do the same for their clients.
I am a 5th grade math teacher who is highly qualified and scored in the 95 percentile on the Praxis II K-6 content exam.
I am a licensed elementary and middle school teacher in the state of Louisiana a Common Core State Standard state. In addition I have over 300 hours of Professional Developement geared towards the implementation of both math and ELA standards for elementary and middle school. I have also had training in both the PARCC test and the Smarter Balance assessment the two main test accepted by Common Core adopting states. Inhavecalso tutored both students and parents on the scaffolding built into the math standards and help parents with the new strategies being taught such as number bonds, area models, tape diagrams and partial products.
