I am graduating in May 2018 with my doctorate in pharmacy from Roseman University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor's degree in biology (biotechnology), certification in phlebotomy and specimen processing and medical technologist - microbiology. My knowledge is very strong in pharmacy, biology, math, and I have experience working at a pharmacy, Sunrise Hospital as a medical technologist and teaching biology labs at UN... [more]
Biology is the study of life. There are so many aspects of biology such as general biology, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, cell physiology, and many more. All these concentrations study a specific part of biology such as function, structure, growth, and mechanisms. In order to understand biology, you have to learn certain main things. What makes up an organism such as cells, DNA, RNA, proteins, phospholipids, and their genetic makeup. How the organism sustains its life through its ability to obtain energy by consuming another organism or using directly sunlight through photosynthesis. These are the general understandings of biology.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology. Throughout high school and college, I tutor elementary students throughout the year. I tutor them in many different subjects. Elementary subjects have different topics depending on the grade level. Kindergarten -6th math includes topics that build on each other as the student progresses into the the next grade. Some of the topics include: understanding of measurements, data and number system, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, operations and algebraic thinking, expressions and equations. English subject include: reading and comprehension, speaking and listening, spelling and vocabulary, grammar and writing. Other subjects include: art, social study, and science.
I have a bachelor's degree in biology. In order to obtain the degree, I had to develop strong study skills. I have worked with groups of students as well to help them develop these skills in order to improve their grade. Study skills is a habit that takes some time to develop. It requires the ability to take information and organize them in a way you can understand them. Some people learn best visually so pictures, charts, and graphs would help. Some people learn best by listening so recording lectures and going to class is a vital part of the learning process. In order to develop good study skills, you have to set a schedule of studying and take the extra time to develop flash cards, study guides, and anything else that will help you understand the material better. I have learned in order to do well in a class, there are several things that you need to do. Before class, you need to prepare before you go to class such as reading the book ahead of time. During class, listening carefully to the teacher and take notes diligently. After class, review the material and the notes you have taken. After all this, if there is material you don't understand, ask the teacher or peer to explain it to you. It is important to be consistent with your studying.
I have a bachelor's degree in biology. I have a certification of a medical technologist in microbiology and I have worked at Sunrise Hospital's microbiology lab. Microbiology is the study of single-celled organisms and non-living infectious particles (e.g. viruses and prions). Bacteria and how life is affected by these organisms.
I am receiving my doctorate in pharmacy on May 2018. I have worked in a pharmacy since 2015 and have been on multiple internships including hospital pharmacy and outpatient clinics.
