I am employed by this educational testing service, the writers of the SAT examination themselves, to score essays from actual SAT examinations administered across the United States. In this regard, I feel very well qualified to take on pupils for the PSAT examination, which is similar in format to the SAT examination. My best scoring old PSAT pupil scored a 219 (99th percentile) on the old PSAT.


SSAT

I was required to take an entrance examination similar to the SSAT, as well as attend a personal interview, to gain admittance to the private high school, and graduated fourth in my class. My prior experiences tutoring the ISEE, the PSAT, the SAT, the ACT, and other standardized examinations containing content similar to that contained in the SSAT qualify me to instruct the SSAT examination.


Spelling

I represented my elementary school at the Orange County Spelling Bee in 1990. I placed 25th overall in the competition. Additionally, I previously worked as a news researcher for the Orange County Register.


ACT Reading

I scored in the 96th percentile of the ACT. My best performing ACT student scored in the 98th percentile of the ACT. Reading comprehension is my area of specialty as a faculty member of two esteemed institutes specializing in ACT standardized examination preparation. The ACT Reading has always been a point of interest for me insofar as it is a locus of an intersection between subjective textual interpretation and objective standardized testing.


ACT English

I scored in the 96th percentile of the ACT, whilst my best performing ACT pupil scored in the 98th percentile of the ACT. My best improved ACT English pupil increased his score from a 20 (50th percentile) to a 29 (90th percentile) after about seven lessons, which did not focus exclusively on the English component.


ACT Math

I scored in the 96th percentile of the ACT, whilst my best performing ACT pupil scored in the 98th percentile of the ACT overall. My best performing ACT Math pupil scored a 35 (99th percentile) on the ACT Math. The ACT Math, unlike the SAT Math, is a curriculum-based examination, and, as such, appears to be very much like other mathematics examinations administered at school. In this context, the ACT Math is straightforward and familiar.


ACT Science

I scored in the 96th percentile of the ACT, whilst my best performing ACT pupil scored in the 98th percentile of the ACT overall. I especially enjoy teaching the ACT science section as it is unlike any other subject I have studied, both in high school and college.


Elementary Math

I am a former Mathematics teacher at two elementary schools in the Inglewood Unified School District of California via AMERICORPS. I have studied mathematics from arithmetic through single-variable calculus during my time as a student. I continue to teach mathematics today as a professional, preparing students for the rigorous mathematics sections on the SAT and ACT standardized examinations.


Elementary Science

I have studied general science at the elementary school level, where I was selected the valedictorian of my class, partly on account of my performance in elementary science classes. I have also studied biology, chemistry, and physics at the high school level, where I graduated fourth in my class, partly on account of my performance in these high school science classes. I have also studied computer science and physics at the collegiate level.


Elementary (K-6th)

I was formerly a member of the Chorale component of the UCLA Pilipino Culture Night Show, where I was a bass vocalist. Theater

I was cast for the Miles Gloriosus, or the Braggart Soldier, for the 2001 UCLA Classics Latin Production of Auricula Meretricula, a play the entire dialogue of which consisted of Latin. I was also cast as the lead love interest role (Amado) for the 2000 UCLA Pilipino Cultural Night show at UCLA, a play the entire dialogue of which consisted of a mixture of English and Tagalog or Filipino. I have also performed as a chorale member, a Filipino traditional dancer, and a Filipino martial artist for other various Pilipino Cultural Night shows at UCLA.


Business

I am licensed as a real estate broker by the Bureau of Real Estate of the State of California. I am also licensed as a life-only agent and as an accident & health agent by the Department of Insurance of the State of California. Additionally, I am registered as the owner of a real estate firm and also as the owner of a private tutoring firm in the City of Yorba Linda. In real estate, my specialty is military sales; whereas, in insurance, my specialty is life insurance sales. I have over fifteen years of sales and marketing experience. I have acquired an enormous amount of practical business knowledge in the course of my career in business.


Career Development

I have advised high school students on the college admissions applications process as well as on the expectations for the college experience in general. In particular, I have helped high school students develop strong college admissions applications essays, complete strong college admissions applications in general, as well as provided expert advice on the requirements various universities have regarding standardized testing procedures for admissions and how best to satisfy such requirements.


College Counseling

I have counseled aspiring college students with regards to the requirements and procedures of matriculation into two-year and four-year public and private American colleges and universities. I have also assisted aspiring college students with regards to their applications for admissions into American undergraduate programs, including admissions essay composition.


CBEST

I passed the June 2011 administration of the CBEST examination. As such, I am familiar with the content of the examination, as well as appropriate methodologies in the course of preparation for it. Like other American standardized examinations, the CBEST is presented as an objective examination despite the various subjective disciplines which it purports to test its students skills within, like reading comprehension and essay composition.


ISEE

I attended a private elementary school, a private middle school, and a private high school. I was selected valedictorian of my private elementary/middle school, and graduated fourth in my class from my private high school. I was required to take an entrance examination similar to the ISEE, as well as attend a personal interview, to gain admittance to the private high school. My prior experiences tutoring the SSAT, the PSAT, the SAT, the ACT, and other standardized examinations containing content similar to that contained in the ISEE qualify me to instruct the ISEE examination.


Logic

I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. I completed two lower-division philosophy courses in Logic as an undergraduate, one of which is now an upper-division philosophy course in the philosophy department at UCLA. These Logic courses were instructed by a world-renowned logician in the Philosophy department at UCLA by the name of David Kaplan, via a software program he authored, Logic 2000.

I am a former marketing professional with over 15 years of sales and marketing experience. I am a former Marketing Specialist with Perpetual Care Services, LLC. I earned an enormous amount of practical marketing knowledge in the course of my employment with this company. My responsibilities in this position were as follows. I coordinated public relations, creative, promotions, and advertising. I developed new programs and initiatives designed to advance the company?s mission. I ensured the company's message was distributed across channels to targeted audiences in order to meet sales objectives, employing both online marketing techniques and direct marketing techniques. I determined target markets to expand audience base, and decided how to reach target market by the use of direct mailings. I planned, directed, and coordinated marketing budgets in accordance to organizational goals. I demonstrated success supervising and maintaining marketing plans, programs, and initiatives that constituted strategic assets to the company and its clients. I reviewed and approved marketing strategies, including having designed telemarketing scripts. I provided feedback to the marketing support team on a consistent basis. I reviewed and approved marketing materials, including having designed the layout and content of brochures and supplemental literature. I attended marketing events in order to interact with the public and respond to minor problems and/or questions. I generated revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing, including telemarketing.


Speech

I am trained in basic communications principles, including the fundamentals of speech. I have been writing and delivering speeches for 15 years, ranging from keynote addresses at social justice conferences to keynote addresses to mentally disabled individuals, some of whom are confined to a mental hospital. I also used to work in marketing, and found myself employing principles of speech in actual practice during the times I was telemarketing to prospective clients with whom I had never communicated.


Fitness

I exercise for recreation and physical self-development. As a high school student, I was on the high school cross country, volleyball, and basketball teams. In the course of the practices I was required to attend as a member of these three sports teams, I completed various physical exercises designed to develop my ability in each respective sport and my physical fitness in general. I also played on an intramurals football team at UCLA, where I was required to maintain a certain level of physical fitness to remain competitive.


Classics

A former Classical Civilizations major at the University of California Los Angeles, I completed a total of 68 lower-division and upper-division quarter units in the Classical Civilizations major, just 3 classes shy of earning a baccalaureate degree in Classical Civilizations, before switching my major to Philosophy, the subject in which I would go on to earn by baccalaureate degree. As a Classical Civilizations major, I completed coursework in Latin, Ancient Greek, Ancient History, and Classical Literature. I was also cast in the Classics Department's undergraduate production of the play Auricula Meretricula, where I played the role of the Miles Gloriosus, or the Braggart Soldier.
