Algebra 1

Mathematics is one of my favorite subjects in college, and I have taken math classes that are typically required for advanced degree math students as electives in my graduate studies. These math skills have benefited me significantly in my engineering career. Calculus

I have taught and tutored Calculus since my college days. I have also taught my students some personal study skills that make Calculus a fun and less demanding subject. Topics that are typically covered in a Single-Variable Calculus (AP Calculus AB, BC) include: Functions, Graphs, Limits, and Continuity. Derivatives: Concept, Applications, and Computation. Integrals: Definite, Indefinite, Applications, Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, Techniques of Integration. (BC Only) Sequences and Series: Concepts, Tests for Convergence, Taylor Series, Radius and Interval of Convergence. Topics that are typically covered in a Multi-Variable Calculus include: Vectors and Vector Functions. Partial Derivatives. Multiple Integrals over different Coordinate Systems. Chemistry

Chemistry is one of my favorite subjects in college as it explains naturally occuring reactions and the impacts of chemical reactions in cell biology. In addition to the required chemistry classes for my Physics and Engineering degree, I have taken classes that are typically required for chemistry students as electives. I have taught and tutored Chemistry since 2005. For new concepts that are difficult to understand, I use analogy, graphs and diagrams to successfully complement formulas and formal textbook descriptions. I have also taught my students some personal study skills that make Chemistry fun and easy for students.

Geometry

Geometry is one of my regular tutoring subjects. I am also familiar with California Geometry curriculum and topics.

Physics

Physics is one of my undergraduate degree along with my electrical engineering degree. From my own experience of learning Physics and years of teaching and tutoring Physics, I have found visual illustrations, beyond standard text books or lectures, can really help Physics students quickly understand Physics concepts, formulas and solve Physics problems.

Prealgebra

For prealgebra, students typically learn the appropriate basic concepts, theories, applications, efficient study techniques and how to solve problems involving: Integers, Rational Numbers and Real Numbers. Proportions, Similarity, and Percents. Geometry and Spatial Reasoning. Area and Volume. Linear Equations and Inequalities. Nonlinear Functions and Polynomials. Precalculus

SAT Math

I have taught SAT Math courses in the Summer over the years. My emphasis is on improving student's logical and mathematical reasoning skills.

Probability

In addition to private tutoring AP Statistics students over the years, I have also taught college-level courses in Probability and Statistics at Boeing and Northrop.

Differential Equations

For difficult math concepts, I use analogy, graphs and diagrams to complement formulas and formal textbook descriptions. I have also taught students study skills that I personally use that make Differential Equations a fun and less demanding subject . In addition to helping students with their homework, I also go over the theories with relevant applications and provide students with extra practice test materials as needed.

Electrical Engineering

As a scientist in the aerospace industries, I have taught college-level courses in Electrical Engineering topics at Boeing and Northrop. EE topics that I have taught include Circuit Analysis, Signal and Systems, and Communication Systems Modeling and Design.
