I love children! I am the mother of 3 children, grandmother of 2 children with another on the way, and I am called Mama by several "adopted" adult children in the Dominican Republic. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary (K-6) and Special Education. I have a M.Ed in Early Childhood Education.
Having been a preschool and elementary teacher, as well as the mother of 3 children, I am very familiar and experienced in teaching phonics.
I took private piano lessons while in elementary school. I then attended Blair School of Music in the Vanderbilt area, where I continued to pursue piano and piano theory. I have also taught private students in my home over the years. I served as church pianist for 10+ years.
Having an undergraduate degree in Special Ed. and being passionate about children with special needs, this is an area I very much desire to work in.
My undergraduate degree was in Special Education, which included students with ADD/ADHD. Also, my son was diagnosed many years ago as ADD/ADHD and received both special services and medications.
