I received my M.A. in History from San Jose State University, and my A.B. in Ethnic Studies from U. C. Berkeley. I have my Single Subject Teaching Credential in social studies and English.

With a teaching credential in social studies, I have taught middle and high school for 9 years. I teach students to "talk to the text" to make meaning of sophisticated texts, and to use metacognition to maintain awareness of their comprehension.
I passed the CBEST, earned my single teaching credential in English and social studies, and have nine years' teaching experience. In the course of tutoring for other companies, I taught the timed SAT essay. Finally, having taught SAT-level math, I am well able to tutor CBEST-level math.
