I am a French citizen and I have been living in the US since 1999. Teaching and tutoring have always been important elements of my professional life, since I consider them as absolutely necessary for an effective management of human resources and for the improvement of professional organizations. I want to highlight here two teaching/tutoring assignments: (1) I was part of the training team of the Stock Exchange in Paris: teaching basics of futures and options markets to capital markets pa... French is my native language. I can provide support on grammar (I have always enjoyed the complexity of the French grammar!) on basic/practical language, or on more advanced language. I have a very diverse cultural and professional background and the students and I can resort to different sources or materials (topics or disciplines) for our work. Listening and patience are my guidelines. Speaking French is fun!
I can provide learning and support in the following areas: * design and production of presentations or flyers; * design of slide master vs. individual slides; (background, page numbering, titles and footers); * insertion of videos, images and graphs/charts with active links with Excel (for automatic update); * slide animations or elements of slide animation.
It has been a pleasure for me to learn English, and my colleagues and friends have often praised my written and verbal communication skills in English. I owe those skills to a continuous training in English when I was in France and since I came to the US. Once arrived in the US, I made a conscious effort to read only in English and listen to radios exclusively in English. I took a course at NYU to improve my pronunciation. I know what it takes to learn English, and I know what works and what does not work. Listening, repeating, being patient, and encouraging are the keys for success. I can provide support on grammar, speaking, writing.
I am currently using MS Outlook professionally. I manage in Outlook emails for all my email accounts, that I have created in MS Outlook. Emails are sorted as soon as received and placed in appropriate folders according to rules that I define. I use Outlook for marketing purposes. I create sophisticated messages that can include pictures, graphs, and active links. These messages are "mass-emailed" using groups (address books) that have to be created beforehand. I use a smartphone (Blackberry) and customer relationship management software (SalesForce) that are synchronized with Outlook (contacts, calendar, tasks). I also use extensively the search functions in Outlook to find past messages.
I use Microsoft Publisher professionally to produce marketing documentation: brochures and flyers. Having worked in the financial industry, I have produced rather complex documents combining text, graphs, pictures and active links (hyperlinks or links with Excel). Microsoft Publisher is a very flexible application in comparison to Word or Powerpoint and I have learned to take advantage of this flexibility for the design of documents.
