Algebra 2

Mastering Algebra 2 is key to success in all future math classes, especially Calculus. I have taught Algebra 2 in high schools and colleges over many years. I am very familiar with the high school curriculum and am very good at helping students understand new concepts.

I have tutored dozens of Wyzant students in calculus over the past 5 years, and have received excellent reviews regarding my clear explanations, building of confidence, phone and e-mail help beyond lessons as well as overall professionalism. I have also taught Calculus at Ohlone College and DeAnza College. I hold an MS in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Engineering from Stanford, and have used Calculus extensively in a 30-year career in Aerospace Engineering.

I have taught and tutored Precalculus and am very familiar with the high school curriculum. I also have a great deal of experience teaching and tutoring Calculus, and know how important a good knowledge of Pre-calculus is to success in calculus. I give very clear explanations and have received excellent reviews from Wyzant students.

Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra is key to all post-calculus mathematics and includes the study of vectors in the plane and space, systems of linear equations, matrices, vectors and vector spaces. Applications include differential equations, least squares approximations, and models in economics. I have taught this course several times as a course and as independent study. I used this material extensively during my career as an aerospace engineer.
