I am certified in special education birth to 2nd grade and k-12. I taught summer school this past summer to both regular and special ed students who were about to enter 4th grade. I am a good teacher and I know how to adapt lessons to various skill levels. I have done day to day subbing in regular education classes as well as long term sub positions in elementary education classrooms.
I have experience with phonics lessons. I taught summer school to 3rd graders who were struggling with reading. In addition, I did a long term sub position with kindergarteners who were learning to read. My specialization when teaching summer school was with incoming kindergarten students working on reading readiness skills. I am also certified in k-12 special education.
I would love to help kids with their study skills and I feel like my background would be great in helping me do so. Learning the appropriate skills to do well in school did not come easy for me when I was younger. I had to work really hard and build my own strategies to be successful. I came from someone who struggled in school to someone with a masters in special education.

Hard of Hearing
I have intermediate sign language skills, and experience with the Deaf and hard of hearing and believe I would be great tutoring hard of hearing individuals.
I teach 1st grade so I make sure that I have my students work on the proper way to write by modeling and using worksheets where they can trace the dotted letters to assist them.
