Dyslexia

I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia in 2009. I was pursuing my MSEd at the time and started to focus my research on learning differences and accommodations. I've worked with the Office of Accessibility and Accommodation at 2 colleges to design learning aids for myself and educate teachers on learning styles and differences. I access all the students I tutor on learning style and evaluate the necessity of formal intervention. All but one of my current clients have learning differences. In every subsequent educator training and class, I advocate for students with different learning styles I hold myself up as an example of a learner with an MSEd and a member of Mensa who is also dyslexic and has ADHD and shouldn't be held back because of learning differences that are not understood or low expectations because of misinformation.
