History isn't just a bunch of names & dates in a book to me; I grew up visiting places where history was made. I love to dig into the details of the past, and it can be so much fun to share that with others. My goal is to make history come alive for my students so they can learn how to apply the lessons of the past to their own futures.
I have always been a high performing student, completing high school with a 4.0 GPA and graduating Summa Cum Laude with a double major from college. I began teaching study skills in the 1990s, starting with test preparation and developing a program that includes memorization, time management, and deductive reasoning skills. My own skills in these areas have come from classroom study and real world experience (e.g., memorizing scripts for live performances, diagnosing technical issues for mechanical and electrical repair, managing office & field personnel & resources).
I am experienced in crafting business plans, licensing agreements, marketing plans, and training programs (focusing on leadership, management, and sales). I graduated summa cum laude from Northwood University with a Bachelor's of Business Administration and spoke as the valedictorian at commencement. I double majored in Automotive Marketing & Management, excelling in strategic planning, managerial accounting, finance, economics, and visionary leadership management.
Half of the BBA I earned in 2011 was a marketing major. I wrote a marketing plan for a clothing consortium that successfully earned them the licensing rights to the name and likeness of a world famous entertainer. Through the use of social media marketing, I expanded the reach of a radio program from local to global; the show now reaches listeners in more than four dozen countries around the world.
