I am passionate about teaching reading, writing, history, and computers. The majority of my assignments are focused on assisting others to become better writers, which includes: editing papers, organizing, helping others learn to structure, and improve writing. When it comes to computers I learn intuitively and find them easy teach. I type this up on a desktop tower, running multiple monitors, which I built myself. I have information technology (help desk) experience, technical certifications A+ (hardware, building computers) and N+ (networking, setting up computer networks). I work in computers, therefore do to my job have software certifications from vendors, such as Microsoft, HP, AMD, and Intel, just to name a few. I excel with cell phones, tablets and electronics. I work at a company that requires me to use tablets and cell phones and cloud software for business reporting. I keep up on current trends and generally stay ahead of technology as best as I can.
I am excellent with Microsoft Office I train on it for my contract with a computer company. I have A+ certification, and also have worked in help desk. Also I am a Toastmasters Club President and have used PowerPoint, and shown other members how to use it for presentations.
I hold a Massachusetts Preliminary Teachers Licenses in English grades 5-8 & 8-12; History grades 5-8 & 8-12; and Middle School Humanities.
I work with high schoolers everyday. In the past I have tutored SAT English and Writing. I have a Massachusetts Teachers license, for which I had to pass a Communication and Literacy test which included reading and writing. Also my course work in college was writing intensive. I would like to help students improve their reading and writing skills.

Writing is key to success in academics and business. I have been successfully tutoring writing students since 2008. I am currently working towards my English teacher's license. Also, I have passed the writing section of the Massachusetts English teacher's test.
As a substitute in the Westfield School District I often find myself working with students on reading and spelling. I try to make learning fun and rewarding, as well as developing memorization techniques. I am effective at teaching spelling.
Study skills are key to learning whatever material one hopes to gain mastery of. I can help students to with basic study skills such as time management, or help to teach them to use strategies to master particular subject areas. I have taught students strategies such as mnemonic devices and methods such as SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review).
I have setup and trouble shot many modems and routers I have a good grasp on business systems. I am CompTIA N(etwork)+ certified which is a heavily regarded standard for network technicians. I learned computers mostly on intuition when I was 12, got involved in helpdesk in college and have sold and trained others for a computer company for the past eight years.
I worked at the help desk while in college. Also, for many years I have worked as an independent contractor for Hewlett Packard. During this time I received my CompTIA A+ and N+ certifications; these demonstrate expertise with Windows PCs, and networking.
I hold a Massachusetts teacher's licenses for History grades 5-12. I majored in History in College. I student taught History, and currently am substitute teaching.
