I've never formally taught elementary school; however, I've had 10+ students I've tutored in K-6 through Wyzant or other platforms. I've taught elementary biology, elementary chemistry, elementary math, elementary English, elementary US history and elementary world history.
I am a fluent Mandarin speaker -- I have an elementary level education from Taiwan, and am comfortable tutoring basic Chinese (Mandarin) speaking and/or elementary reading skills.
As a lifelong student who has switched careers multiple times, I feel I am uniquely qualified to advise in a variety of careers and fields. I have worked as a researcher, an engineer, a manager, a teacher and a director of data and research.
As an experienced high school teacher, I have counseled my students on the college application and decision process. I have edited and counseled many of them as they made the transition to graduate school, and have intimate knowledge and experience of the entire process having received degrees from four different institutions (MIT, Tufts, Bennington and USC).
I have coached and edited many personal statements and essays at high school, undergraduate and graduated levels.
