Hi. My name is Lauren and I recently graduated from Miami University in the summer of 2012. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Miami. Spanish has truly been a lifelong passion of mine. I have studied Spanish formally throughout high school and continued that formal education through college, eventually earning a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Miami University. Sharing my passion for the Spanish language and culture (in its various facets) is what I do best. I believe that my time spent abroad in both Honduras and Costa Rica, combined with my experience tutoring English students in Spanish during my college years has really prepared me well for this role of an experienced, dedicated, PASSIONATE Spanish tutor. I want my students to not only meet but also succeed their own expectations regarding language learning and I believe that I have the right tools to make that goal a reality.
I have had about two years' combined experience teaching students in an ESOL environment. I taught English to several groups of elementary Spanish-speaking students in Honduras and, more recently, through college, have co-taught a group of adults of various nationalities in an ESOL classroom. As an individual that has dedicated a large portion of my life to second language learning myself, I feel that I am especially well-attuned to the needs of individuals learning English for the first time.
