At the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora CO, I participated in the construction of a flashcard application designed for smartphones. The purpose of the application was to reinforce information that commonly occurred in answers on the RITE (Residency In-service Training Examination.) My role was to parse the information in the answer keys and to determine what images should be included on card slides. During my investigation I came to the conclusion that it is important to change the way we approach our learning strategy when it fails. In this instance the primary investigator and I hoped to address the failure of existing study materials by changing the way those same materials were presented.
