I am a former high school teacher and worked in Alternative Independent Study programs. I also work as a writing assessment reader for several school districts in the U.S. and Asia, and am a certified GED Essay Reader. Although my formal education is in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology, and in Secondary Education, I am familiar with and interested in many areas of study. I have studied guitar and played in various groups from the age of ten. I am also half of the duo of "Kat n Jonny" in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I have also performed with the Black Eyed Junkos and have scored an independent film. I can work with beginning or intermediate students who would like learn how to play the guitar.
I have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Ripon College, Ripon, Wisconsin, 1979.
I completed 1.5 years of a Master's program in Archaeology at the University of Arizona in 1980-82. I also was an instructor at an archaeological field school run by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the summer of 1979.
In my earlier years, I was a social studies teacher at the high school level in Orange County, California. I had an active credential for many years, but have let it lapse, as I don't want to work a full-time job at this stage of my life.
