Having spent the majority of my life in a classroom, both as an instructor and student, I am well aware of what it takes to be successful. My experiences as a tutor through Wyzant and other institutions have shown me how to successfully work with students in addressing their concerns about their studies ranging from math, general science, and a variety of standardized tests (i.e. PCAT, SAT, etc.). These experiences, as well as my time as a Pharmacy student, have given me the confidence that... [more]
After earning both a Bachelor?s in Biochemistry and a Master?s degree in Biology, I can say with confidence that I will be able to work with a variety of different students who are interested in improving their skills and knowledge in the life sciences. Whether its at the microscopic level, in relation to an organism, or entire ecosystems, we will be able to boost both your grade and understanding of any number of different areas of Biology.
My B.S. is in Biochemistry, with chemistry being of general interest and study since high school. Recently, I scored in the 97th percentile for my PCAT chemistry section, which includes both organic and inorganic chemistry.
I am a Teaching Assistant for Anatomy and Physiology (I and II) at SUNY Brockport.
I am a Teaching Assistant for Anatomy and Physiology (I and II) at SUNY Brockport. I tutor this subject as well.
I took the GRE several years ago so I'm very familiar to the testing format and how one can prepare more efficiently for the exam.
I tutor this subject at SUNY Brockport.
Though I have not taken the MCAT, I have taken the PCAT (91st %tile), which is the pharmacy entrance exam. These two exams cover nearly the same material, save for the MCAT including more physics and less organic chemistry.
Presently, I am nearing completion of my Master's work where I study the spatial expression pattern of Anoctamin-1, which is to say where this gene is expressed, in the zebrafish gastrointestinal tract using in situ hybridization. This project deals extensively with advanced topics in molecular biology and genetics. My experience in my previous job allowed me to work with many different transgenic mouse models. My coursework has also extensively prepared me for any kind of coursework relating to genetics.
I am currently in my 3rd professional year at a College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and am more than qualified for tutoring a wide variety of students on pharmacy, pharmaceutics, and pharmacological topics.
I have a Regent's diploma from Irondequoit High School ('02), as well as degrees in Biochemistry (BS) and Biology (MS) from SUNY Geneseo and Brockport, respectively. I am more that qualified for all the subject matter required of this subject, as well as having sufficient knowledge of the Regents exam and how it is structured.
Currently, I tutor many different standardized test subjects, including the PCAT, MCAT, GRE, SAT, ASVAB, and the ACT. I have worked with these students and helped them to efficiently prepare prepare for their admissions tests. As a pharmacy student, I am well familiar with the types of questions, particularly the math and science questions, that will be asked on this exam.
