As a recent resident to the St. Louis area, I am originally from Pennsylvania where I received my educational training in teaching. Government & Politics
In addition to my Pennsylvania Instructional teaching certificate in Social Studies grades 7-12 allowing me to teach general/cultural anthropology, I also took a comprehensive Cultural Anthropology course during my undergraduate education. Along with this course, my training in psychology has given me general knowledge in the area of linguistics, a sub-discipline of anthropology. Lastly, I have personal study abroad and service learning experiences living in various cultures (e.g., Spain/Western Europe, Costa Rica, Nicaragua), which have exposed me to various cultures.
I have held several careers, both within and outside of teaching, with schools and companies who have used Microsoft Outlook as their default program for email. From this direct experience, I have gained advanced-level skills in the ability to navigate through the Microsoft Outlook program.
In order to earn my Pennsylvania teaching certificate, I had to take several of the Praxis exams, which compare to the requirements expected for Missouri teachers. In total, I took: the Praxis - Core Academic Skills for Educators (formerly called the Praxis Is), Praxis II - Social Studies Content Knowledge, and Praxis II - English Content Knowledge. I have direct experience tutoring both the general Praxis as well as Subject Praxis exams as well in my previous role as a tutor with Sylvan Learning Center.
In addition to my Pennsylvania Instructional teaching certificate in Social Studies grades 7-12 allowing me to teach general sociology, I also took several classes both in my undergraduate and graduate training in sociology. Along with Intro to Sociology, I also took a course in Sociological Theory and Crime & Delinquency. While obtaining my master's degree, I also took a course in Sociological Foundations of Education.
I hold a Pennsylvania Instructional teaching certificate in Social Studies grades 7-12. I earned this certificate by completing a teacher education program, as well as earning a passing score on the Praxis Social Studies: Content Knowledge exam. I am certified to teach the following subjects within social studies based on this certificate: History, Geography, Political Science/Civics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology.
In addition to my Pennsylvania Instructional teaching certificates in English and Social Studies grades 7-12 allowing me to teach literature and history from the classical era of ancient Rome and Greece, I also completed projects and assignments for my world history college courses focusing on this time period.
In addition to my Pennsylvania Instructional teaching certificate in Social Studies grades 7-12 allowing me to teach courses in political science/civics, I also took various courses related to the study of government. Some of these courses included American Government and Comparative Government & Politics.
