My main motivation for pursuing a career as a professor is to combine both teaching and research skills that I accumulated over time (about 15 years) for the benefit of the students. I have been working on the Biology field for over 15 years, more specifically in the areas of Molecular and Cellular Biology. I have over 30 scientific articles published in high impact journals on these topics.
I am a native Portuguese speaker (born in Brazil).
For 2 years, I was Assistant Professor in Human Physiology at Pontificia Universidade Catolica (PUC) in Brazil (2006-2007), where I lectured for Nursing and Medicine undergrad students.
I was Assistant Professor in Genetics at the Universidade Nove de Julho (UNINOVE, 2001) in Brazil, and I also performed a post-doctoral training at the Laboratory of Genetics at Salk Institute (La Jolla, CA, USA) from 2001 to 2005.
I got my bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at University of Sao Paulo (1989-1993) and I have extensive work published in the drug discovery field.
