Experienced Math, Technology, and Programming Tutor

I've worked in a tutoring or teaching role for most of my adult life, and I love helping other people learn! While earning my B.S. in math, I worked in my university's math clinic, tutoring a variety of (math) subjects, and while I was in graduate school I was a teaching assistant in the math department for two years, and for one year I worked in a high school geometry classroom, both enriching the students' education and my ability to communicate and teach. I've been a private tutor in the ... [more]

Calculus

I've tutored or taught math in general for nearly a decade, and most of that included working with all levels of calculus students. Business calculus, calculus 1, 2, and 3, and even a few more advanced topics in calculus: I know them all and would be happy to help you or your student learn them as well!

Discrete Math

As an undergraduate at UTA, I have taken discrete mathematics and advanced discrete mathematics. I did well in both courses, and I thoroughly enjoyed the material.

Differential Equations

I have taken, and done well in, differential equations courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Also, differential equations is one of the courses that I tutored while working in the math clinic at UTA.

C++

I have undergone coursework in C++, and I'm quite comfortable teaching or tutoring the language. I've been programming in general for several years on my own and have used similar languages extensively. I've also tutored similar languages as well.

Computer Programming

I've been a hobbyist programmer since I was in high school. I've learned a number of languages, and I always love learning new ones and new technologies, but most of my recent experience has to do with Java/Android, and even more recently JavaScript/node.js. I have two years of experience tutoring in my university's math clinic, helping students with any concepts and exercises that they were having trouble with.

Linear Algebra

While earning my B.S. in math, I worked in my university's math clinic, tutoring a variety of (math) subjects, and while I was in graduate school I was a teaching assistant in the math department for two years, and for one year I worked in a high school geometry classroom, both enriching the students' education and my ability to communicate and teach.

I've know Python since I was in high school, and I've used it off and on over the years. In particular, I've used it to complete all of my assignments and projects in my computational physics course, all of which I received good grades for. I've also used Python to write small GUI applications.

JavaScript

I've got nearly a decade of experience tutoring and teaching, and a few years experience tutoring programming specifically. I know JavaScript (and TypeScript) quite well, and have either done or tutored browser programming using plain JS as well as React.js and similar frameworks, as well as server-side programming with node.js, express.js, MongoDB, and other libraries.
