Algebra 1

I have graduated from the Navy's Nuclear Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Schools. Obtained a BS Degree in Computer Science from Chapman University in Orange County, and dual AS Degrees in Computer Technology and Electronic Technology from Grossmont College in El Cajon, CA. For twenty years in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Engineer, I have used Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus along with Chemistry and Physics to understand the operation of Nuclear Reactors, as Software Program Analysis for the Shuttle Team at Lockheed Martin learned and used Aeorspace Physics to perform operations on satellites launched for the Space Shuttle , and as Senior Instructor for 14 years at Sun Microsystems used the concepts of Physics to understand and teach Systems Administration and Hardware Repair Courses.


Algebra 2

I have used the concepts from Algebra 2 at Sun Microsystems in order to write programs for their systems. Also used Algebra 2 with engineers at Lockheed in order understand the flights of the Satellites and Shuttle in space. I also have used Algebra 2 topics and concepts in prepping students for various grade exit exams, the math portions of the SAT, ACT, and various AP exams.


Calculus

I graduated from the Navy's Nuclear Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Schools. Obtained a BS Degree in Computer Science from Chapman University in Orange County, and dual AS Degrees in Computer Technology and Electronic Technology from Grossmont College in El Cajon, CA. I have used Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus along with Chemistry and Physics in serving as Nuclear Engineer for the US Navy on six different submarines for 20 years, as a Software Program Analysis for the Shuttle Team at Lockheed Martin, and as Senior Instructor for 14 years at Sun Microsystems. I have tutored over 150 students during the last 30+ years in Elementary Math through Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry with excellent results. Encompassing SATs, ACTs, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics. I taught Math and Calculus at Sun Microsystems in order to write programs for their systems. I also covered Math and Calculus with engineers at Lockheed in order understand the orbits of the Satellites and the Shuttle in space.

I have taught Geometry courses ranging from 6th grade through College throughout the last 20 years.


Physics

I have tutored many High School and College students during the last 30 years in Physics and AP Physics with excellent results. I spent 20 years in the US Navy where as a Reactor Operator and Engineering Watch Supervisor used the knowledge of Physics to understand and preform the operations on a Nuclear Reactor. I have worked for Lockheed as a Software Programming Analysis in which I learned and used Aerospace Physics needed during the launching of satellites from the Space Shuttle.


Prealgebra

I basically a retired Nuclear Engineer with three computer science degrees, BS in Computer Science, AS in Computer Technology, and AS in Electronic Technology. I have tutored and taught Math, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and SAT/ACT prep many times over the last 40 years. I have used Precalculus and Calculus in serving as Nuclear Engineer for Navy submarines for 20 years, as Software Program Analysis for the Shuttle Team at Lockheed Martin, and embedded in programming courses as Senior Instructor at Sun Microsystems. I have taught at UC Santa Cruz, UC Berkley, and De Anza College Extensions Courses. I tutored many students during the last 30 years in Precalculus with excellent results.


Trigonometry

I have taught trigonometry along with precalculus and math analyzes courses for the last 10 years. I have a BS Degree in Computer Science and Dual AS degrees in Computer Technology and Electronic Technology. And I was a Nuclear Engineer for twenty years in the US Navy. I have power point presentations on Solving Trigonometric Equations, Trigonometric Applications and Models, Right Triangle Trigonometry, along with several others related to Trigonometry that I use in my tutoring to meet the desired learning objectives. I also have several Trigonometric Cheat sheets and Worksheets that I go over with the student as well as many books to use as reference material if the student doesn't have assigned by the school. I have review and final exams given by several schools that can be used in increase the student knowledge and confidence.

I have taught approximately 125+ students in Math (1st Grade through 3rd year Calculus including Algebra and Geometry). I also have tutored SAT and ACT math. If the student doesn't have a text book, I have access to several school textbooks along with exams (quizzes) and other course material used in present Elementary, High Schools, and Colleges covering Algebra. I also furnish and go over handouts, review sheets, and cheat sheets that the student may need.


Study Skills

Over the last 50 years I have taught students study skills in preparing for various tests such as SATs, Final Exams, Job Promotion Tests, and quizzes in Electronics, Math, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Computer System Administration, and Statistics. In fact, I have written exams meeting various testing standards for the US Navy, GTE, Zilog, Sun Microsystems, De Anza College, and UC Santa Cruz. Tutored students on specific course content, using techniques that complement the learning styles of the individual students.


Discrete Math

Over the last 40 years I have taught students in Discrete Mathematics as part of courses that I developed and taught for Sun Microsystems, De Anza College, University of California Santa Cruz, Zilog Inc., GTE Electronic Systems and Services, and US Navy. I have a BS in Computer Science, AS in Computer Technology, and AS in Electronic Technology. If the student doesn't already have a text book from his or her school, I use "Discrete Mathematics and its Applications 7th Edition" by Rosen, training videos by ArsDigita Discrete Math Course by ArsDigita which lectures on topics directly from the book, I have the lecture notes and problem sets for each of the twenty videos. Note that student will have computer access to the pdf file of the book. I also review tests for each chapter as well as final tests for the end of course.


Differential Equations

Over last 40 years I have taught Math, Algebra, Geometry, Discrete Mathematics, Physics, and Calculus at many various institutions. Differential Equations is subset of the topics listed as part of the Calculus curriculum (first and second derivatives). They are the language in which the laws of nature are expressed. I have textbooks, workbooks, course books, quizzes, tests, and exams along with video tutorials to reference as needed to understand the various topics covered.


Computer Science

I have a BS Degree in Computer Science, an AS Degree in Computer Technology, and an AS Degree in Electronic Technology. I taught 31 of the 42 Computer Courses while at Sun Microsystems from 1990 to 2005. This included System Administration, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance of Sun's various Unix systems. This also included Perl and Shell Programming (sh, csh, ksh, and bash). I developed and taught Advanced Unix Utilities (Shell Programming) at De Anza College and the University of California Santa Cruz evening students. I analyzed and evaluated computer systems developed by the U.S. Air Force contractors used in the Air Force Satellite Control Network. I developed and taught courses in Unix/Ultrix System Administration and System V Unix System Administration for Lockheed from 1986 to 1990.


Linux

I have a BS Degree in Computer Science, an AS Degree in Computer Technology, and an AS Degree in Electronic Technology. If the student doesn't already have a textbook, I use the Linux Bible, covering Fedora, GNU Linux, Debian, SUSE, Ubuntu, and 7 Other Distributions, and Linux System Administration published by O'Reilly. The student will use Student Notes from the Tehran Polytechnic University covering: * Linux System Architecture, covering the Kernel Architecture and Functional Overview. * Linux File System, covering the Network and Disk File Systems. * Linux Installation and Troubleshooting I also cover Shell Programming (csh, bash, ksh, sh) using a 528 page Student Guide that I developed while at Sun Microsystems. This is a one week course that I taught at Sun Microsystems, De Anza College, and UC Santa Cruz. This course describes the different shells available in the OS. It covers the basics in analyzing a problem, designing a series of steps to solve the problem, and then organizing a series of operating system commands and shell built-in commands to perform the necessary steps to solve the problem. Good programming techniques and script debugging are also described.


Logic

Over the last 40 years I have taught Logic concepts to students as part of courses that I have developed and taught for Sun Microsystems, De Anza College, University of California Santa Cruz, Zilog Inc., GTE Electronic Systems and Services, and US Navy. I have a BS in Computer Science, AS in Computer Technology, and AS in Electronic Technology. I am certified to tutor Discrete Mathematics which is the theory behind Logic. In some circles they are considered very similar courses. If the student doesn't already have a text book from his or her school, I use materials that I have stored on my computer along with quizzes, tests, and exams.


Perl

I helped in the development of a one week course for Sun Microsystems and then taught it at least one every 5 weeks between 1990 and 2005. I also taught the course at De Anza College and UC Santa Cruz evening students from 1992 to 1996. I have a BS Degree in Computer Science, an AS Degree in Computer Technology, and an AS Degree in Electronic Technology. If the student does not have their own book, I use my lecture notes that I developed, tested, and taught. I assist the student in installing a Perl application on their computer and/or tablet. The student will also get a 584 page Student Guide that I developed to use. The course covers: * Creating Perl Scripts using scalars, arrays, hashes, and control structures. * Creating Perl Scripts that read, write, and search files for specific text patterns. * Creating Perl Subroutines, Packages, and Modules using the concepts and data structures described in the course.


UNIX

I developed and taught 31 different computer, networking and UNIX courses at Sun Microsystem for over 14 years. I have a BS Degree in Computer Science, an AS Degree in Computer Technology, and an AS Degree in Electronic Technology. If the student does not have their own textbook required by their company or school, I use a Student Guide, "UNIX Essentials Featuring the Solaris 10 OS." It covers components of the desktop system, manage files and directories, creating and modifying files, controlling the user's work environment, and how to archive files and perform remote operations. I also use a 528 page Student Guide, "Shell Programming for System Administrators," developed by Sun Microsystems. This is to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary for shell script programming (sh, csh, ksh, and bash). You will learn shell script syntax, as well as analysis and design procedures, to successfully create shell scripts. The course takes allows you to automate tasks that you frequently perform on the job.


Electrical Engineering

I am a retired Nuclear Engineer with a BS Degree in Computer Science, an AS Degree in Computer Technology, and an AS Degree in Electronic Technology. I was an Electronics Technician for twenty years in the US Navy. While in the Navy I went through Electronics A and B schools (each one year long). I have developed and taught Electronic and Digital courses for GTE, Zilog, and Sun Microsystems. I have worked as Computer Repair Technician for 5 years. I have textbooks, workbooks, and course books covering all the topics needed to know in Electric Engineering. This also includes the Math and Calculus use in the definiations.


Finite Math

I am a retired Senior Instructor of many various computer science courses such as Unix/Linux System Administration, Networking, Programming (Perl and Shell) and Computer Systems setup and troubleshooting courses for 30 years. I have three degrees (BS in Computer Science, AS in Computer Technology, AS in Electronic Technology). I also went to Nuclear Power School and Electronic A and B schools (each one year in length) while serving 20 years in the US Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on six Nuclear Submarines and one Nuclear Cruiser. Over the last 40 years I tutored many students from Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus including Discrete Math for Computer Science and Discrete Math for Business and Statistics. I developed and taught Perl and Shell programming for UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley Extension Courses, and at De Anza College in Campbell California. Where you had to write programs to solve or demonstrate the formulas used in Discrete and Finite Math.
