I took classes in pedagogy and have some special education training in my background. I dealt with several students with ADD/ADHD on a volunteer basis, even tutoring a young lady with severe ADD for a year and a half who was struggling with writing. She is doing well now and I hear from her often.

I have endorsements from colleagues for my public speaking abilities. I was President of the College Republicans of ACU and was asked to speak at several public events throughout the city of Abilene.I also judged high school speech and debate throughout the Abilene area for both UIL, TAPPS and various invitational tournaments.
I am an excellent test taker. I possess the necessary knowledge to help make students better at taking standardized tests. I was also part of the last class to take the TAAS test and guinea pig class for the TAKS (class of 2004). I also keep up with updates and have access to test helps for students.
I took classes in geography, history, political science, government and a class on civil rights. I also audited classes in social studies as part of an Education minor. My adviser was a professor who taught social studies and I would often be referred some of his students to assist them with home work or questions about the material.
