Biology has always had a spot in my heart. My mother is a nurse so science has been a big part of my life. I think science of any kind is so full of wonder and I like to figure as much of it out as possible. I also like to help others understand how amazing the world around us is. I have taken several advanced science classes in high school and college that I think have prepared me very well to help inspire others to seek out answers to the unknown world that is science.
I am a certified elementary generalist teacher. I have 25 college hours in reading instruction for both general and special education students. I am a math and science resource teacher for students with disabilities. I have been in my position for the last three years and feel very knowledgeable about the content students are required to master for all elementary grade levels. This gives me the advantage of knowing how to stair steps concepts from beginning concepts to more difficult concepts.
I have a degree in EC-6 general education as well as special education. I am very good at adapting curriculum or individual lessons to fit the needs of the individual. Math, science and history are my favorite subjects to teach and also the hardest for some students to master. I like making difficult things fun and easy to understand.
I work with special needs students who need many different study strategies to get by. I have done several presentations covering everything from time management and organizational skills to word remembrance and memory skills.
I hold a degree in EC-6 special education. I have been involved in the community since I was in high school and have seen and experienced many different aspects of the students and their needs.
I have my masters degree in special education and believe that I am highly qualified to teach students with ADD/ADHD. I have taught students with ADD/ADHD for the past five years and have learned many different ways to help them keep organized and focused when it comes to their school work.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
I have two degrees in special education and currently work as an autism unit teacher. I have worked with many students on the autism spectrum in and out of the classroom environment over the last five years and have many hours of professional development and college credits dedicated solely to working with students who have autism.
