Business

I have been working in the business environment for over 15 years. In addition to my first-hand experience, I have multiple undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and business-related topics. I have also taught in colleges and trained staff personnel within my own organizations.

QuickBooks

I have performed some general bookkeeping and accounting functions using QuickBooks in the early parts of my professional career. I currently review QuickBooks data in many of my engagements. I have also trained some clientele on how to enable/disable features and export month-over-month financial statements into a single Excel file. A few of our clients also using the cloud version on QuickBooks and I have performed some attestation services using QuickBooks backup data.

Microsoft Access

I have an undergraduate degree in information technology that included a course in database theory and development. This course went covered the theoretical aspects of data normalization, primary keys, and relational database structures. The course also used numerous practical applications of Microsoft Access to exemplify the theoretical aspects discussed. I also use Access in my daily job sometimes when the complexity of data is not as suitable for Excel.

Microsoft Outlook

I have an undergraduate degree in IT and have been using Microsoft Outlook for the past decade. In addition to sending and receiving emails, I also use Outlook as my primary calendar and have it linked to my cell phone to give me reminders of upcoming meetings and appointments. There are some add-ons that I have installed for my Outlook including a ShareFile portal to send/receive large files from Outlook.

Criminal Justice

I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in criminal justice. During my career in forensic accounting, I have worked on many white-collar crime matters (e.g. Ponzi losses). These cases have involved financial forensic investigation techniques. Some of the reports I have prepared were for local law enforcement and even US attorneys.

Tax Accounting

During my professional accounting career, I have prepared hundreds of returns. This includes tax returns for both individuals and corporations. I have utilized tax returns as a source document in many forensic engagements and have performed ancillary services for tax returns.
