Hello! My name is Despina and I'm a recent graduate of the University of California-Riverside where I studied Biological Sciences. Now, having completed my degree, I'm looking to help other people expand their knowledge. I have worked previously as a tutor for elementary level, as well as higher education schools so I have experience in multiple subjects. Those subjects include: science, math, English, and many more! As a tutor, I prefer to help students learn through a "question-and-ans... [more]
I have tutored for several years predominantly in math and science. Please read the reviews to see feedback regarding my math tutoring qualifications.
As an undergraduate student I studied Biology for four years, and have completed my degree in this particular branch of science. I feel confident that I can help others learn about this subject because I have a vast knowledge of all branches of biology and I have tutored for it before at university and high school levels.
As a recent graduate of the University of California, Riverside, I took vertebrate anatomy for two quarters. In both classes I received excellent grades in both the lecture and laboratory components. Furthermore, as a tutor for the Academic Resource Center on campus I tutored this subject at a university level, so I feel confident in my ability to help others learn about it.
I have helped students prep for the SAT for the last two years with vocabulary expansion and practice so I'm confident I can help your student succeed.
I am an excellent candidate for this subject because I have prior training and experience teaching good study skills to students at the university level. Not only did I tutor students 1-on-1 to teach them how to be able to handle all of their subjects efficiently, I also did group presentations on this matter weekly. My most recent job required me to teach about study skills which is why I have the qualifications to continue to do so.
Greek is my native language. As a first-generation Greek-American I was taught to speak, read, and write Greek at a young age. I have also completed six years of formal education in this language.
I am a current dental student who has recently taken the Dental Admissions Test and scored in the 95-97% for all subjects. These included Biology, General and Organic Chemistry, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Perceptual Ability. My experience within dentistry is extensive because I have over 400 hours of shadowing both general dentistry and some of the specialties, but also because I have volunteered at several dental clinics both within the U.S. and abroad. I am therefore qualified to prepare other hopefuls for the Dental Admissions Test, as well as to help them prepare for the upcoming application cycle via my own experiences and advice.
