Hi! I have been teaching ever since I tried to make my younger brother play "school" for fun. I am now an educator, artist, and published writer. I graduated with a BA in Sociology from Princeton University and have a strong background in writing, research, and the social sciences. I got a perfect score (800) on the writing section of the SAT. I am great with editing and regularly edit, copyedit, and proofread documents for school and work, including essays, research papers, and marketing materials.
I have been doing theatre since I was in the 6th grade and am studying Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities in graduate school. In addition to being a performer, director, and stage manager, I have led middle school drama clubs and taught a theatre and activism class for high school girls.
I also have taught college awareness/readiness classes to high school freshman, have lead college tours for students from low-income areas, and have spoken to special groups that came to visit my campus about the college experience and applying to college. I have also assisted high school students with their college admissions process. In general, I am very knowledgable about personal and structural barriers to getting to college and the different factors people consider when applying to school. I feel strongly that students should feel empowered to do what's best for them (and their families) even when faced with such big decisions.
I majored in Sociology at Princeton University. I also minored in African American Studies, Urban Studies, and Latin American Studies. I utilized ethnographic methods in my senior thesis, which focused on activism in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.
