I taught a beginning adult ESL course for a year on my own. My students had limited or no previous education. Their spoken English was very limited, but we were able to learn how to sound out the words and they were beginning to read by the end of our year together. I also took a Linguistics class in order to understand/be able to describe the formation of sounds better.
I participated in theater for 4 years in college, covering most aspects of it: history, stage work, acting methods, costumes, make-up. I'm not saying that I'm an expert at everything, but I would make sure that I have the skills needed to aid the student before accepting a job. I do very well with different acting methods, read-throughs, and character development. I was once very shy and would love to help anyone looking to break out and further their acting skills.
