My name is Shelby, and I am science teacher. I teach biology and integrated science. I have my B.S. in Biology and a M.A. in Education. I have spent time doing research in entomology, not only working in KY, but also training with experts in six museums in five countries including the British Natural History Museum. I am a high school science teacher with a B.S. of Biology and a focus in botany. I have worked for and done research with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the University of Kentucky.
I am currently finishing up my Master's degree in Entomology. Specifically, I study systematics. This includes a great deal of genetics and molecular work as evolution is driven by genetic changes. I have taken genetics classes during undergraduate and graduate school. I have both classroom and practical experience with both subject matter, applied research, and analysis. I have experience with both traditional and next generation sequencing techniques.
