I tutored math classes of all levels independently through high school. In college, I also tutored at my University Math Center, tutoring Algebra through Calculus. During college and after graduation, I have tutored all levels of math through Wyzant, from Basic Math through Precalculus. My specialty is Algebra I and Algebra II.
In college, I was a peer counselor, meaning that I taught the freshman orientation class. This class focused on helping students adjust to college academics, particularly study skills and time management. Through classes, working with students, and managing my own work, I have developed a number of study skills techniques that I would love to share with students.
I was valedictorian of my university with a major in business, specifically Accounting with a minor in Finance, but I took some classes in each major discipline of business. I assisted students in my classes and after I had completed those classes. My particular favorites to assist with were accounting, economics, and business policy/strategic planning classes.
I have worked for the admissions office of a 4-year university, and also for a career college. I know the benefits of multiple careers, and I am able to advise students on ways to meet their goals. At my university, I was also a peer counselor, helping freshman acclimate to college life and assisting in any way possible. I have a passion for helping college students, and would love to use the skills that I have gained.
As an Administrative Assistant, I used Microsoft Outlook extensively, particularly in scheduling meetings for myself and others and booking rooms within an organization. I also have used it for personal use, for e-mails, and tracking tasks and to do lists. I can do more advanced functions such as making rules to automatically send certain e-mails to folders, a particularly useful function. I learned most of this on various jobs, but I did take a class in college that covered the entire Microsoft Office package.
