I've helped many students who are struggling in Algebra by offering detailed personal attention that is so lacking in many of today's classrooms. By fostering a learning pace that is tailored to the student's needs, and breaking down difficult material into digestible parts, I enable students to grasp hard concepts and master their course.
In Prealgebra, I focus on helping students build a strong foundation of key concepts. In a classroom setting, teachers often do not have enough time or confuse the matter with difficult terminology. As a tutor, I offer detailed attention to the students' needs and fill in gaps of knowledge, thereby enabling them to form a thorough understand of the building blocks of algebra.

ESL - As a trilingual person (English, Chinese and Swedish), and having studied on three continents, I have an in-depth understanding of the language journey that second-language learners goes through. Unlike monolingual instructors who often take phrasing and words for granted, I am acutely aware of individual speech-patterns and am able to adapt my instruction accordingly. Having trained extensively in vocal production and public speaking, I have also successfully helped many students reduce their English accent and become more comfortable in their non-native environment.
The beauty of a standardized test is that it is completely predictable! As an SAT math tutor I help students methodologically target each section and fill in knowledge gaps. Through a combination of strategy, drills, and timed practice, I've helped many students become comfortable with SAT math, and feel ready for test day!
