4th Grade to Undergraduate - Math, Science & Engineering

As a teacher, I strive to create an environment that is friendly and comfortable. I believe that creating such an atmosphere is crucial to building a rapport with the student, and hence foster learning the material efficiently. I find that students, once comfortable, learn more easily, as it promotes asking questions and receiving positive feedback from the teacher. I consider myself well-rounded and approachable from students of all ages. I have been involved in teaching from the middle ... [more]

I have a lot of experience tutoring geometry and its application to pre-calculus, calculus, and pSAT/SAT.

I have extensive knowledge of algebra and have experience teaching middle and high school students all math subjects.

I have assisted many students with trigonometry and other high school math courses

SAT Math

I have tutored many students for SAT math; this request is for SHSAT, but I can assist with either.

Received 90%+ on all subjects on the same exam date.

Physical Science

I have a masters in engineering, and two undergraduate degrees in chemistry and molecular biology.

I have helped 5-10 students on their ASVAB math and verbal sections. I received positive feedback from these particular students on their improvement.

ACT Math

I am extremely comfortable teaching high school math and standardized tests like the ACT. I can assist in both test taking abilities, and also the mathematics.

ACT Science

Elementary Math

I have been a coach for Mathcounts, which focuses on elementary and middle school students.

Elementary Science

Study Skills

I have been involved with teaching at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Being a TA for UCSD, I have learned to help students in both group and individual environments. I have not only taught material, but also provided advice to manage their time and prioritize for their coursework.

Differential Equations

I completed a course in differential equations at UT Austin and received an A. In addition, I used differential and partial differential equations in graduate coursework at UCSD.

I teach introduction to C++ and have other experience with MATLAB, Python, R, and SQL

Computer Programming

At UCSD, I was a teaching assistant for an undergraduate engineering course that used both SolidWorks and MATLAB for assignments. In addition, I have used MATLAB for my dissertation work, specifically an image pipeline (images in, numbers out) for individual migrating cells. I am currently learning Python and R using Coursera, which would allow a wider audience. Overall, I would be comfortable teaching beginning and intermediate algorithm design and coding fundamentals to accomplish a specific task.

Linear Algebra

I have taken linear algebra, and received an A. I also have a MS bioengineering degree, and took a course that required working with derivations of linear algebra theory.

I have been programming in Matlab for 7 years. I consider myself an advanced user and assist in various software development applications with Matlab.

Organic Chemistry

I have a chemistry BS from UT Austin. I have taken a full year of organic chemistry, and a graduate course in physical organic.

I programmed in MATLAB for many years. I finished a data science bootcamp (2015) using Python, R, and SQL.
