My master's degrees are in elementary education with a concentration in mathematics (K-8) and in reading. Both degrees were awarded frm Edinboro University of PA. I have had several years of experience teaching mathematics to both middle and high school level students.
I have two master of education degrees and am working on my doctoral dissertation in reading and literacy. I have tutored students in reading and phonics skills this past summer for two second grade students. I believe that a hands-on approach is quite effective when teaching any subject because it fully engages the student in the learning process more fully.
My qualifications for writing include teaching language arts to students in which a component of that literacy block is writing. Therefore, I do have experience in editing and revising writen work.
I have taken the SAT Math qualifying test and have received a passing score. I do have a strong math background in my teaching career.
I have a master's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics (grades K-8) from Edinboro University of PA. I have taught math at both the elementary, middle, and secondary levels.
I am currently an elementary teacher (4th grade) in a local public school system. I have been with this particular school district for 12 years. I have taught both special education and regular education classes.
I teach a literacy block that contains a phonics segment to each theme that is presented in the text. I have taught summer school basic phonics skills to second grade students to improve fluency and comprehension.
I believe that students need a sense of organization when presented with materials in class and therefore, I can teach them how to formulate an outline and present the main ideas and supporting details that encompass the area of reading to learn.
I hold a special education teaching certificate from an approved local university program in education. Additionally, I have taught both emotionally support and learning support classes at the elementary level (K-6) for four (4) years in a local public school district.
