?Teaching is communication, and when you teach you have to communicate your way to do something: if your student learns ?how to do? you win, if he doesn't you fail. The most important thing is the result: at the end of the course the student will be able to do what he studied for?. I am Roberto, 53, I like teaching, and I combined the activity of teaching/training with my main job (software developer and general manager of the software company I set up and owned). I did it in Italy, where I ... [more]
I worked in the IT field for many years, and I have been in the IT education field for many years too. I have experience in hardware, software, management, business applications. I know Excel very well and I use it (and MSOffice) every day for budgets, charts, tables, data also interacting with PowerPoint or Words and exchanging data with other programs. I have also taught how to work with Excel for many years. Recently I also developed an accountancy software based on Excel/VBA and spreadsheets and Macros for specific utilities like payrolls or condominiums management. I often help clients to compare spreadsheets, showing differences of bugs and I also often tutor college students for Excel related topics. I am able to plan a class either for a beginner user or for an advanced user (also for Pivot Table or functions like Vlookup) and if you have to use it for administration or accounting, maybe I can give you some advice to increase your productivity. I can also teach how to use macro or VBA in Excel. If you just have a specific problem or a specific question to be solved with Excel, we can do it together: I can design a spreadsheet for your questions and I will teach you how to do by yourself the next time. I usually support my tutoring sessions with slides that I prepare exactly for the course that you need. Excel is powerful, and you will be able to use it to get the results you need.
I have worked in the IT field for many years, and I have been in the IT education field for many years. I have experience in hardware, software, management, business applications. If you just want to know more about computers, we can plan together a course: you will learn how a computer works, you will learn how to use spreadsheets (Excel), word processors (Word), emails, browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome) and so on, you will understand the meaning of "backup." For better results, you should have a computer with a licensed (or a free) office automation package, no matter the brand, and you must bring it with you during the lessons. During the lessons, I also use some slides. I've taught these kinds of courses many times. You will achieve your goal and you will be really proud.
I worked in the IT field for many years, and I have been in the IT education field for many years. I have experience in hardware, software, management, business applications. I have worked with Word for many years to support my office, professional and personal activity, and of course to support my lessons when I teach. I also use Word together with PowerPoint and Excel. I can help you with Word, it is the first step to the world of Office Automation, and MSOffice.
I worked in the IT field for many years, and I have been in the IT education field for many years. I have experience in hardware, software, management, business applications. I have worked with PowerPoint for many years to support my public speeches, to support a simple presentation, and of course to support my lessons when I teach. I also use PowerPoint together with Word and Excel. I can help you with PowerPoint, and if you need to use it for a conference or something similar, I am also able to give you some advice in Public Speaking with PowerPoint.
I often tutor students in Java: I explain how to use loops, objects, methods. I also usually help students to understand how to "structure" and design a program, how many classes are needed, how to write properly the main and the data definition classes, and how to use static or local variables, Arrays and Collections. I'm a software developer. I know several languages, as well as Java, COBOL, VBA/Basic, RPGII, Python, Delphi, C. I worked in several companies as software developer and analyst in Unix, DOS, and Windows OS. I designed, developed, and supported business software applications. If you know other languages I can also make some comparison with you. Java is probably the most important software language now. If you need help to learn Java, or if you need help to solve a specific problem in Java you can call me: we can work in the IDE Eclipse to understand every single step of your code. I can also help you if you just need help in using&understanding an Object Oriented language.
I am Italian native speaker, and I still have frequent contacts with Italy, so my Italian is definitely "current" (yes, I know, it is much better than my English). I have a lot of experience in technical teaching (first) and communication and public speaking (later), because I also held parliamentary offices. I will teach you to speak and understand Italian to use it every day. I have in-depth knowledge of legislation, and I can explain exactly how to understand the Italian laws. Even if you are only going a few days to Italy on vacation or for business, I can help you and teach you the most important things quickly.
I'm a software developer. I got my high school degree in Italy in 1983 as IT programmer/accountant. I worked in several companies in Italy, approximately from 1984 until 2005 (1987-2005 also in a company I set up in Udine, Italy) as software developer and analyst using COBOL (RM/Cobol), BASIC, RPGII in Unix, DOS, and Windows OS. I designed, developed, and supported business software applications. I taught COBOL mainly in professional courses. If you want to learn COBOL, you should have a computer with licensed COBOL compiler and runtime (if needed) to let you try the software you develop.
I worked in the IT field for many years. I have experience in hardware, software, programming, management. I taught Computer programming and computer science usually in professional courses, before teaching a specific subject (COBOL, Java, Basic/VBA, Unix? and so on). Also computer programming is a concept for better understanding how a computer works, and sometimes high school students learn general concepts for future studies. I can help you to understand computer programming and computer science, but it is very important to know exactly what is the goal you want to achieve.
DOS is the first (and now the oldest) worldwide operating system for a personal computer. I have used it since I started to work in the IT field. Now it is old, but DOS command line is still active, and of course I can help you use DOS commands. Maybe it could be interesting put together (or compare) several OS, like DOS, Unix, Macintosh, and Windows. I have used them all for many years. Just let me know what you need to learn. For good results, you should have a computer with the operating system you wish to use, and you must bring it to your lessons.
Macintosh is a specific world of computing, with a specific operating system (OS/X). I used Mac for a couple of years. I can teach you how it works and how to use it. We can also compare different operating systems, such as Windows, Unix, OS/X. To achieve positive results in learning, you should have a Macintosh computer, and you must use it during the lessons.
Unix is a powerful operating system, and from UNIX were born other operating systems such as XENIX, AIX, and Linux. I worked in the IT fields for many years, and I used Unix/AIX OS for a certain period of time. I wrote some shell programs, and used the command line in the daily use.
I have worked in the IT field for many years, and I have been in the IT education field for many years too. I code in several languages, including Java, COBOL, RPGII and VBA. Using VBA I also developed an accountancy software for small business, and I always use VBA when I need a simple and fast language. Of course I also use VBA programming Excel or MS Office macros in general. Using VBA I can teach you basic programming, but it is great also to explain how to develop an easy procedure to print a daily report or to manage an small Database. VBA is also great, using events (like buttons) in a simple GUI (Graphics User Interface). Using VBA together with office I can teach you the basis of coding, the basis of databases, the basis of GUI. I am able to plan a class either for a user that wants to just use VBA with MS Office, or for a user that wants to start with VBA to go on with java or other languages. If you just have a specific program or a specific problem to be solved with VBA, we can do it together. Maybe we can use a background spreadsheet, developing a GUI for input, coding some events in VBA, and print some reports or simply send some email as output. We can work together for the first time, and then you will be able to do it by yourself the next time. I usually support my tutoring sessions with slides that I prepare exactly for the course that you need.
