As a Speech Therapist, I have training on Phonics. Working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, phonics becomes a large part of speaking. Understanding the sound/letter relationship is important in beginning literacy for all children.
I tutored and interpreted American Sign Language for 3 years in college. I then worked for 3 years at California School for the Deaf. Since moving to Colorado, I have been working at Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. My ASL skills are useful in teaching, as well as tutoring and communicating with D/HH people/students.
Hard of Hearing
I am a speech therapist with training in auditory system and technologies used for the sort. I have 3 years experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. I know how to use amplification and have experience with auditory training. I have 4 years experience in the school setting with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
I attended graduate school in Colorado for Speech Language Pathology. I have worked in the field since graduating in 2008. Through ASHA, I have all my credentials to work as a Speech Pathologist.
