Top Shelf Tutoring

Every student I have tutored has received at least a B in his/her course and so will you! I'm Joe G. and can tutor just about any subject and help anyone. I taught AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC at my high school for volunteer hours when I was 17/18. I was an early admissions student at FGCU and taught college algebra, statistics, and intermediate algebra there when I was 18/19. When I was 20 I joined the Marine Corps and was in for five years. I got out with my bachelor's in mathematics an... [more]

Discrete Math

I am a current graduate student at Florida Gulf Coast University in Applied Mathematics. I received an A in Discrete Mathematics at FGCU. As an undergraduate, I tutored fellow classmates that were struggling in the subject, helping the class maintain a B average. I tutored two undergraduates last year in Discrete Mathematics successfully. When I tutor Discrete Math, most time is spent sitting beside a white board discussing different ways of imagining what the question is really asking. That's usually the most difficult part. Once a picture is in the students head, we go about sketching proofs on the white board and attacking the idea from different directions until it's wrestled to the ground. Lots of coffee is usually involved.

Differential Equations

I received an A in undergrad Differential Equations, and received a B in graduate level differential equations I have taught Calculus and given many lead-ins to differential equations. I have tutored six people in differential equations in the past three years, all receiving a final grade of at least a B-.

Linear Algebra

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from SUNY Empire State College and a Master's in Mathematics from Florida Gulf Coast University. I'm a current PhD student in Mathematics at Louisiana State University

Finite Math

While teaching at a high school in Florida, I was tutoring several students (some were other teachers) in finite math. I have a masters in mathematics and have taught everything from high school algebra 1 to differential equations. As a tutor I have helped many college returnees with their basic math skills, helping them redevelop their mathematical thinking and pass their classes.
