I graduated from college with a degree in International Studies, specifically International Relations. This is history in action! For the past 3 years I have been helping ESL high school students learn American and World history. These lessons include preparation for passing the Ohio Graduation Test.
Over the past 25 years, I have taught and tutored ESL students in a wide range of settings and levels -- large classrooms, small groups and one-on-one; from beginning to advanced and business proficiency levels. I use a wide range of teaching methods which are driven by the student's goals--conversational, academic, written work, proficiency tests, etc.

Developing study skills is a combination of the material to be learned, one's learning style and the ability to be organized. I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects with a wide range of students which has led me to develop several creative approaches to learning. I also have passed on some useful organizational habits over the years.
I studied Russian language for 4 years and lived in Russia for 14 years. I studied both conversational Russian and traditional Russian grammar. Because languages are living and reflect the culture in which they operate, I use a combination of traditional textbook exercises for repetition and current media for active knowledge.
