I'm an experienced business leader with an MBA. I joined WyzAnt because I enjoy helping motivated people acquire new skills and confidence! My approach as a tutor is a product of my own journey as a jack-of-many-trades and a life-long learner. As a student, I earned GPAs of 4.00 (Associate degree), 3.75 (Bachelor), and 3.79 (MBA). As a professional, I launched a start-up social enterprise in Eastern Europe. After relocating to New York several years ago, I joined a Fortune 200 company where I... [more]
As an entrepreneur in Kosovo I developed a bookkeeping template in Excel that the local authorities agreed to accept in place of three paper ledgers, saving my employees time and reducing errors. As an MBA student I relied on Excel for a variety of marketing and finance projects. During that time I both gave and received informal help from my colleagues on how to better use Excel. I am passionate about finding ways to use technology (especially Excel!) to simplify business processes. Several times each month, I learn new Excel skills by looking up free tutorials online. I would be happy to help you do the same and become self-sufficient.
I built websites as a teenager (in the late 1990s) both for myself and non-profit organizations; I was self-taught from books and websites. I became proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop through formal college courses. I developed expertise in business tools, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. I have used both a PC and a Mac as my primary computer at least 5 years each. I approach computer tutoring with the goal to make the client self-sufficient! Technology changes quickly, but you can stay ahead of the curve!
- I won Best Team Defense (oral) and Best Biennial Report (written) in an eight-week financial management competition. My team of five ran a computer-simulated multinational company for eight weeks, making decisions on capital structure, sources of financing, inter-company funding, transfer pricing, international tax management, currency risk management and interest rate risk management. - I performed due diligence research on about 12 potential investments and reported findings to venture capital and angel investors. - I advised the management teams of five early-stage startups on steps they could take to increase the value of their firms and to position themselves for future rounds of funding. - I assisted the management teams of two startups to develop financial and operational models in Excel to support their business plans.
In 2014 I earned an MBA degree from a top-ranked program and graduated with distinction (GPA 3.79/4.00). During that program I completed two professional internships as a management consultant and analyst for venture capital investors. Earlier in my career I raised $100K in seed funding and launched an American-style bakery-cafe social enterprise in Eastern Europe. After school I entered the field of healthcare administration, and managed a business unit in New York that was part of an international Fortune 500 healthcare company.
