I've been a trumpet player since I attended Sixth grade (in the early 1970's) and studied privately through my college years under Walter R. Larsen, a renowned professional trumpet player. I have studied and performed all types of music for trumpet and participated in all types of groups including marching bands, orchestras, jazz bands, brass choirs, and even as a soloist. I would have my students follow Arban's lessons and methods as well as including etudes and duets so they have a complete grasp of technique and musicality as well. My lessons would focus on mastering of the fundamentals, including proper breathing techniques, and building from there into learning and mastering different music styles and musicianship.
