I am a graduate of Elmhurst College, having received my Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Communication Studies. I am currently pursuing an M.Ed in Elementary Education from Loyola University Chicago and have broad plans to eventually pursue a doctorate in educational administration. I have experience tutoring elementary students. I am also currently pursuing my M.Ed in Elementary Education, and my program is field based. This means that I have been in classrooms interacting with students and participating in lessons since the beginning of the program.
I am currently taking coursework in literacy instruction with a heavy emphasis on phonics. I understand the major principles of phonics as well as numerous methods for teaching phonics. I have already designed lesson plan for phonics instruction as part of my coursework.
I have participated in various forms of theater throughout college, including productions and improv comedy. I have taken theater classes (both methods and history) and I have been very passionate about theater since I was a child.
I have a B.A. in History and upon graduating from my Master's program I will be certified to teach K-8, including a certification in Social Studies
