I recently received my dual certification in teaching general and special education to elementary school students. I also received a master's degree from Columbia University's Teachers College. I completed my first student teaching placement in 1st grade classroom, and my second placement in a 5th grade classroom.
I studied Special Education (specifically teaching students Autism and Intellectual Disabilities) at Columbia University. As part of that program, for one year, I served as a student teacher at two different schools, and both of the classrooms I worked in contained students with special needs.
As part of my master's program in Elementary Special and General Education, I took several courses on how to most effectively teach students with diverse special needs, including ADHD. Through that program, I studied research-based practices on how to teach and motivate students different interests and learning styles. My approach to tutoring students with ADHD is to individualize my lessons to incorporate their interests and limit the number of distractions in the learning environment.

I recently completed a master's program in special and general education from Columbia University's Teachers College, which prepared me for teaching elementary school students with a variety of learning differences, including dyslexia.
