American History

I took AP US History in high school, and throughout my college and graduate school experience took several courses addressing political, philosophical, and cultural developments in American history. I have also worked for educational nonprofits whose missions involved teaching high school, college, and graduate students about history (particularly economic, political, and philosophical history). I have tutored students in other AP history courses, so I am familiar with the study and test-taking skills relevant for AP history tests.

European History

In high school, I took AP World History, a good part of which involved learning about European History. In college, I took a series of three courses which focused on European religion and philosophy from the Ancient Greeks up to the mid-20th century, as well as numerous political theory classes which required much study of European philosophers and political thinkers. In these courses, we studied not only the thought itself but the background political, cultural, and technological contexts of the time. Since 2009, I have also attended numerous college and graduate-level seminars which focused on, among other things, European political and economic thought and history from the Enlightenment through the mid-20th century; these seminars also connected the ideas to the broader sociopolitical context.
