I have 2 degrees in Computer Science from Northwestern University and 34 years professional experience as a computer programmer. When I was at the university, the Computer Science program was still much more about theory and less about practical subjects such as programming and project management. This background in theory makes me particularly well suited for tutoring a broad range of topics in Computer Science.
I've been using Linux in my day job since about 1999. I have installed and administered more Linux distributions to more Linux servers than I have kept count.
I purchased my first Macintosh in 1985. I have been a professional Macintosh assembly language, C, and C++ programmer. I am using a Mac OS X MacBook Pro right now. For several years during the last decade I ran a small business servicing and tutoring Mac OS X users.
I have been using UNIX since 1976 when I was programming in assembly language on a PDP-11 minicomputer with a single 5MB disk drive. I was a Sun workstation user and administrator in the 1990s. I still use Linux in my day job today!
