I believe that everyone has the ability to learn Math. Not everyone has the easiest time learning it in a classroom setting, of course, but I can honestly say I never tutored anyone who didn't understand the material after a little one-on-one explanation. I like to meet a student where they are, emphasize their strengths, and build on the knowledge and understanding they already have. I am a homeschooling mom with a B.S. in Mathematics and Latin from Louisiana State University, and a M.S... [more]
I hold a M.S. in Mathematics, and I have been tutoring and teaching for over 10 years.
I earned an A in my undergraduate Foundations of Mathematics course (Math 2040 at Louisiana State University: Introduction to techniques of mathematical proofs; sets, logic, relations and functions, induction, cardinality and properties of real numbers.) I also hold a Master's Degree in Mathematics.
I earned an A in my sophomore level Linear Algebra undergraduate course (Math 2085 at Louisiana State University: Systems of linear equations, vector spaces, linear transformations, matrices, determinants), an A in my senior level Finite Dimensional Vector Spaces course (Math 4153 at Louisiana State University:Vector spaces, linear transformations, determinants, eigenvalues, vectors and topics such as inner product space and canonical forms), and a B in my graduate level Linear Algebra course (Math 560 at Colorado State University: an investigation of the properties of linear transformations on finite dimensional vector spaces).
