As a computer consultant, I work with Linux software installation and configuration. I assist clients with obtaining and updating Linux-based computer systems and networks. I troubleshoot software/operating problems for workable solutions, as most Linux systems can have multiple possible configurations because of the nature of the open system.
As a computer consultant, it was important to understand many operating systems for my clients. I have a working and teaching knowledge of Macintosh. I worked with Computerland teaching employees and customers basic MAC computer concepts. I continue to assist both fellow students and clients with networking, software installation and updating, and working with programs.
I received my 4 level certification in Access in 1990 from National American University in South Dakota. I have taught Access classes at several schools in South Dakota and Texas. I worked with the Texas council on Family Violence to develop SQL queries and reports, created forms to enter services. I worked for Computerland and Connecting point when Windows first made its appearance as an instructor after attending computer training courses and conferences offered by Microsoft. I am a member of the Embroiders Guild of America and have been for 18 years. I have ongoing course work in Japanese Embroidery through the Japanese Embroidery Center in Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently working on a course for painting embroidery backgrounds. I am proficient in cross-stitch, raised embroidery, Japanese silk and metal, and needlepoint canvas.
