I recently completed my dissertation making me uniquely qualified to work with students on grammar issues. I have tutored GED/TASC students in New York. I also worked with military members as a functional academic skills instructor, including grammar skills.

I have taught Excel for Western Dakota Vo. Tech, American University, and Vernon College as well as independent courses as a contract instructor.

General Computer

I owned my own computer consulting business from 1990 to 2004 and continue to consult in various computer aspects. I worked with individuals and businesses to improve computer literacy, install hardware and software problems, and setup and configuration. I also worked on the administrative side creating and maintaining databases, working on word processing and publishing projects, and presentations for training purposes. I continue to tutor in computer literacy at Carthage Library and my local College.

I have 30 years of computer literacy training and administrative experience. I taught computer software courses for my business for 14 years. I taught college computer literacy courses for Vernon College, Texas. I continue to offer computer consulting services.

I taught critical reading at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY. I also tutored GED/TASC students for NY Board of Continuing Education Services. I received certification in math and reading through through Literacy of Northern New York.


I recently completed my dissertation for my Ed. D. in Educational Leadership through University of Phoenix. I worked at my local college, Jefferson Community College, teaching critical reading and writing. I also work with NY BOCES tutoring for the TASC (GED) program. I have expertise with APA, MLA, and Chicago style.


I have a Minor in English as well as a degree in Education. I have taught writing and reading in various settings as well as tutored in a college writing lab. I have excellent APA, MLA and Chicago writing methods.


I have a Masters in Adult Education/Adult Literacy as well as information literacy. I have taught for 25 years and tutored students in reading and writing for 10 years.


I have worked in the Adult education field for 20 plus years. My test prep experience includes working with military members on ASVAB and AFOQT as well as GED/TASC, Accuplacer, and personal GRE prep. I am certified through NY Board of Continuing Education Services.



I currently tutor with New York State Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Carthage/Watertown, New York. I prepare young adults to take the TASC (GED) test through the state program. The course offered lasts between 3 months to a year with both classroom assistance and online course work.

SAT Reading



I am certified through WyzAnt. I am also certified by Central Texas College to teach the Functional Academic Skills Training course for the Army. I have worked with soldiers in Germany and Georgia.

ACT Reading

I have worked with soldiers on ASVAB, AFOQT, and other military tests. I also work with GED/TASC students for the NY Board of Continuing Education Services. In addition, I taught critical reading for the Accuplacer test prep course at Jefferson Community college.

Elementary Math

Though I do not have teaching certification, I do have a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Education, and a Masters of Science in Adult Education and Leadership. I work for Literacy of Northern New York as a reading and math tutor. My prior experience is with the Army tutoring soldiers in functional academic skills to improve test scores for promotion.

Elementary Science

Elementary (K-6th)

I worked as a substitute teacher for the Wichita Falls School district in K-6 and some middle school AP math and science courses. I generally substituted for English and AP English as well as 4th and 5th grade math. I recently completed basic literacy learner, English language learner, and math tutor training programs through the Intake to Outcomes organization. I have a Bachelors of Science in Education with a minor in English studies.

Study Skills

I am certified through Central Texas College to teach functional academic skills for the U.S. Army. I facilitated the functional academic skills training for the Warner Barracks in Bamberg, Germany from 2010 - 2012. Skills training included basis study skills in Math and Reading Comprehension as well as general study skills to improve test taking (ASVAB), note taking, reviewing materials, and other skills.

Web Design

I have an Associate in Information Systems Management. As the Coordinator for Graduate Studies and Sponsored Programs at Armstrong Atlantic State University, I maintained the Graduate Studies web pages. I owned my own business from 1990-2004 as a computer consultant, which included Web site design and management. I continue to maintain personal web sites.


I owned and operated a computer consulting business for 14 years. I processed all communications, scheduled trainings, and used appropriate accounting methods to manage finances. I have an Associate degree in Administrative Management. I have approximately 25 years of business management and administration experience.


As a computer consultant from 1990-2004, I used Quickbooks for my accounting. I taught Quicken and Quickbook courses for several computer companies in Rapid City, SD. I also was registered as a Quicken qualified consultant during that time through my business.

Career Development

I have a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education and a Master's in Adult Education. As an adult educator, I work with adults in many capacities to include tutoring, teaching, and community leadership. I worked with the Continuing Education Center at Armstrong Atlantic State University as well as career development centers in Germany and South Dakota.

Desktop Publishing

I taught Pagemaker and Corel Suite (desktop publishing) for a college. These courses were basic and intermediate levels. I assisted clients in both creating publications for business use and created the publications for clients.


I created a complete learning program for faculty preparing online materials for courses at a university. This was my master's thesis project. I used the Dreamweaver suite of software to prepare this project.


As a computer consultant, I work with Linux software installation and configuration. I assist clients with obtaining and updating Linux-based computer systems and networks. I troubleshoot software/operating problems for workable solutions, as most Linux systems can have multiple possible configurations because of the nature of the open system.


As a computer consultant, it was important to understand many operating systems for my clients. I have a working and teaching knowledge of Macintosh. I worked with Computerland teaching employees and customers basic MAC computer concepts. I continue to assist both fellow students and clients with networking, software installation and updating, and working with programs.

Microsoft Access

I received my 4 level certification in Access in 1990 from National American University in South Dakota. I have taught Access classes at several schools in South Dakota and Texas. I worked with the Texas council on Family Violence to develop SQL queries and reports, created forms to enter services. I developed an instructional manual for statewide domestic violence shelters to assist in training staff on data entry and report generation.

Microsoft Outlook

I am currently working on my Doctorate in Education/Educational Technology. I have a degree in Information Systems Management. I owned my own computer consulting business from 1990-2004 teaching Microsoft office and windows to USAF/US ARMY members, local school districts, and as an course instructor at National American University, Western Dakota Vo-Tech, Vernon College, Central Texas College, School of Mines and Technology, and Armstrong Atlantic State University. I continue to use Microsoft products daily and for school work.

Microsoft Windows

My Microsoft Windows experience extends for nearly 25 years. I worked for Computerland and Connecting point when Windows first made its appearance as an instructor after attending computer training courses and conferences offered by Microsoft. I continue to work with Windows, teaching basic computer literacy and working with classroom activities for my own education.


I am a member of the Embroiders Guild of America and have been for 18 years. I have ongoing course work in Japanese Embroidery through the Japanese Embroidery Center in Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently working on a course for painting embroidery backgrounds. I am proficient in cross-stitch, raised embroidery, Japanese silk and metal, and needlepoint canvas.

Microsoft Publisher

I have worked with Publisher to create both simple and extended publications, such as, pamphlets and advertisements, for my computer consulting business. I have also taught courses in computer and desktop publishing. I have continued to use this product in personal publications and materials for my Girl Scout troop.


I am certified through Central Texas College to teach functional academic skills to military members to improve scores on tests such as the AFOQT and ASVAB. I have proctored and evaluated the TABE test for military and I tutor and facilitate courses in functional academic skills for the Army. 75 percent of students completing tutoring or the course show marked improvement on test scores.
